Kiritsu is built so your trades never leave your computer. This page says exactly what does, and why.
Last updated: [date of launch]
- Your trades never leave your PC.Journal, notes, screenshots and backups live in one folder you own.
- No account, no broker password.Nothing to sign up for. Kiritsu never logs in to your broker.
- No tracking. No analytics, no ads, no cookies, in the app or on this site.
- Four things go online. The news calendar, earnings dates, update checks and, with Premium, your licence key. Listed below.
Who we are
Kiritsu is made by [your name], trading as [business name], registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KVK) under number [KVK number], [business address], the Netherlands. Questions about privacy: [support email].
The app: what stays on your computer
Your journal (trades, notes, screenshots, rules, plans, accounts and settings), its backups and the app's log file are stored only in your Windows user folder, in %APPDATA%\Kiritsu. We cannot see them.
What the add-ons read
The NinjaTrader and Quantower add-ons run inside your trading platform and only read. They never place, change, cancel or close an order, and they send nothing over the internet.
- What they read: each fill (account name, contract, buy or sell, quantity, price, time, commission) and the price of the stop orders you place. The NinjaTrader add-on also reads 1-minute bars around each trade, for its chart.
- Where it goes: plain text files in
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Kiritsu\ninjatraderand%LOCALAPPDATA%\Kiritsu\quantower. Kiritsu reads them from there. Open them any time from Settings → Trades → Open sync folder. - What they never read: your password, your balance history beyond today's realised P/L, or anything outside your trades.
- Turning them off: untick the sync in Settings, or remove the add-on from your platform.
The app: what goes online, and why
- The economic calendar. The app downloads this week's news events from a public calendar feed (nfs.faireconomy.media). Like any download, this shows your IP address to that site. Nothing about you or your trades is sent.
- Earnings dates. Twice a day the app downloads the earnings dates of the big Nasdaq companies from Nasdaq's public earnings calendar (api.nasdaq.com). Nasdaq sees your IP address. Nothing about you or your trades is sent.
- Turning these off. Settings → Journal → News: turn off earnings alone, or all news downloads. Then the app does not contact those sites at all.
- Update checks. A few times a day the app asks GitHub (github.com) whether a newer version exists, and downloads it when you choose to install. GitHub sees your IP address.
- Premium licence checks. When you activate Premium, the app sends your licence key and an anonymous ID for this computer (a code made from it that does not reveal its name or yours) to our payment provider, to register this computer and to re-check the key about twice a day. Without Premium, no licence check happens.
The app has no analytics, no tracking and no advertising. Error details go to the local log file only; you decide whether to send it to us with a support request.
Buying Premium
Orders are handled by our reseller, [payment provider], which is the merchant of record: it takes the payment, charges the right tax and emails your receipt and licence key. It processes your name, email, billing country and payment details under its own privacy policy. From it we receive your email address, the country and the order, which we keep for as long as tax law requires (seven years in the Netherlands).
The website
This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from other companies: even its typeface is served from this site. The site's host sees your IP address to deliver the pages. The download button takes you to GitHub, which has its own privacy policy.
On a phone you can ask for the download link by email. We use that address once, to send that one email through our email provider (Resend, under its own privacy policy), and store it nowhere ourselves. Nothing else is ever sent to it.
Support emails
If you email us, we use your message, and any log file you attach, only to answer you, and delete it within a year of the conversation ending.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, and object to how we use it. Email [support email]. You can also complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a new date. A change that affects your data in a meaningful way is also announced in the app's release notes.
